Sunday Meetin' Time Series: These are special books, for special people for extra special prices just in time for Winter and giving. Great gifts for other holidays like, Mother and Father's Day, too. Great gift to your church library and/or local library and tax deductible. The Sunday Meetin' Time Series: takes you through all the seasons of the year with this down to earth and delightful family, the Alrod's. The story covers seven generations of an Irish Immigrant who came to America penniless; but like Jacob in the Bible, he works five years for his future father-in-law before marrying his young bride. Then they travel west to take possession of the farm that would be handed down in the Alrod Family for 150 years.
With flash backs through the years, we see how each family had their own lives to live and how their faith sees them through many difficult and even sad events in their lives. There are flashbacks to the devastation in Ireland that cost the lives of so many; and how this young immigrant made his way to America. Through the Grandpa in the story, we see how he managed to survive World War I.
The main emphasis of the story takes place in 1939 and 1940 and the many events that involve this corn farmer/minister and his large family including Mama, Billy Joe, Sarah Louise, Verna amid Velma, (the twins), rambunctious and humorous five-year old Little LeRoy; Baby James; and then the new baby "Will." You will get to know the church members, merchants, and neighbors of the family as their stories weave in and out with the Alrod family.

Book One Sunday Meetin' Time The Little Church on the Hill
Book Two Sunday Meetin' Time The Alrod's
Book One & Two Sunday Meetin' Time Series
Book One: "Sunday Meetin' Time" - The Little Church on the Hill A young soldier returns from Iraq war with his wife and baby and becomes a history tearch in his hometown. Through a student, he comes to hear that the little church built by his ancestors is to be torn down. The opening chapters reveal his plea to the broker to save the church and cemetery. Here begins the story of how the little church came to be built by the early settlers in 1850. It is located in a small valley nestled beneath the foohills of small mountain range.There are more than fifty photos in the books reflecting the story and the times.
As the young teacher, George Henry Alrod, Jr., tells the history of the church, the scene is set for the main part of the story which is about his ancesor, Herman Alrod. Herman is still farming the original 150 acres in the late nineteen thirties and the early nineteen forties. The farm was originally farmed by his great-grandfather, Samuel Goodroe Alrod, who came to America from Ireland as a penniless young lad in 1845. The story unfolds through Herman's family, friends, community, and church where he is also the preacher of the little church on the hill.
The Alrod's gives us a sense of who our forebearers were - how thy labored and sacrificed to make America the nation envied by the world. Herman Alrod is a devoted husband and father of seven. He is a corn farmer by heritage and inhertiance. He becomes the reluctant pastor of the little church on the hill. His steadfast submission to God, his devotion to his family, and his commitment to the community is evident as he preaches the Word of God through Jesus Christ at "Sunday Meetin' Time!"
This will be a remembrance to those who have fond memories of this era, and it will enlighten those who came behind them with the history, poems, songs, scripture, romance, mystery and adventure of bygone days. Readers have raved about these books and many feel they would make a great movie or TV series.
You will love little five-year-old Leroy. He is funny, rambunctious, inquisitive, and talkative. America was made strong by the families who worshiped in small rural churches, honored God, loved their familiy and respected their country. Could A,merica of today be saved by the same?
Upon request you can have these books autographed!

Both books in the series are in the genre of historical fiction. As the story weaves back and through seven generations of the Alrod family, it opens in modern day when a young soldier returns from Iraq to become the history teacher in the high school where he grew up.After serving his country in war, he decided to come back to his birth place and dedicate himself to making a difference in the lives of those coming behind him. With his young wife and new baby, he journeys back to his hometown; but little did he know he would be journeying back in time with those who came before him.
Through one of his students, he becomes aware that the little 150-year-old church on the hill is to be torn down; and he forms a History Club to research the stories and history of the little church.
Book Two: "Sunday Meetin' Time" - The Alrod's
Paintngs by Patricia McCullough Walston
Book One of Sunday Meetin' Time leaves the Alrods at their Thanksgiving table in 1939. Christmas and the New Year are just around the corner; a heavy snowstorm is brewing over the mountains.
It would be a miracle if "Sandy Claus" could find the Alrod farm. There is no money for gifts...and yet the Alrods will have "The Best Christmas Ever in the Barn!"
Five-year old LeRoy is wearing a path back and forth from the windows trying to get a glimpse of the reindeer landing. The oldest Alrod children, Billy Joe and Sarah Louise, are determined to make Christmas as happy as possible for the little ones. The younger children are sneaking around to take bites from Sarah Louise's poorly decorated cookies that are hanging on the tree. Many of the popcorn strings have more string showing than popcorn.
Sarah Louise is quite the little Mama caring for the new baby. Papa and the others are helping all they can to make up for Mama's absence. The cast on Papa's broken leg makes it difficult for him to get around. Billy Joe is taking care of the animals. A heavy, cold, and winter snow storm is blowing across the montain; leaving the valley fridgid and isolated.
Medical bills are piling up and the mortgage on the farm overdue. There hasn't been any offerings in the plate at the church for Preacher Alrod in several weeks. Times are tough; nickels and dimes scarce.
The Alrods feel blessed to have had such a resourceful Mama. Because of her hard work all summer long, she had filled the cellar with home-canned goods. Her cabinets are lined with homemade jams and jellies. Papa had filled the smokehouse with as much meat as he could. Without those preparations, they would have had nothing to eat.
Yet they were all looking forward to "Night Watch Service" on New Year's Eve bringing in the New Year of 1940 in the little church on the hill.

~~~~New Just released~~~~~ The most amazing thing we can learn about God is the most diffcult for mere humans to understand, being how God can be God the Father; God the Son; and God the Holy Spirit.
Another way is to say it would be: God is God; Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God = Three-in-One. This book explores the many attributes of God, the names of God, and the power of God and will answer the title, "Who Needs God Anyway?" It gives a very simple inspired illustration of how God can be Three-in-One!
This is not a novel with normal chapters; but is laid out in segments or topics so that the reader can linger, pray, and ponder its contents. Throughout, youwill find blank pages to use for notes, prayers, points to ponder, questions, and journaling. This is your personal diary with God. This will answer many questions people have about Who God really is!
Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. God is not our Heavenly Butler waiting to hear that "ring-ring" asking that He come running to do our bidding. Christ was the greatest gift we could ever receive and this book could be the greatest gift that you could ever give to friends and loved ones. It is a gift of hope for eternal life. God will always be a mystery; but through His Word He has allowed us to know more about Him.
First of all, pray as you begin this great new adventure to become more acquainted with the God of the universe. Some parts will be remedial for thosewho have studied the Bible; but breathtakingly amazing for those who have not;as they come to realize just Who God really is.
For all of you who will open up your heart, mind, and soul, these scriptures and text will help you become acquainted with the One and Only True.... God.. But it will also give an eye-opening understanding of what happens when the world denies Him.... and the consequences.The cost of this workbook/diary/journal isonly$15.99with a coil binder that allows it to lie flat for writing.
